Head Costumer

Come create fun appearances for characters. This volunteer position is ideal for anyone who loves experimenting with colors, shapes, and styles. You can enjoy the experience of seeing some of your creativity on stage. Costumes are an important part of the visual experience audience's gain from performances.

Duties:

Complete an analysis of selected plays' costume needs.
Meet with directors to get their visions.
Acquire measurements for all cast members.
Sketch costumes (optional).
Make, rent, or buy costumes not already in stock using the theatre company's money.
Fit costumes.
Do alterations.
Find accessories such as jewelry.
Assist with costume changes if necessary.
Collect costumes after performances.
Clean costumes.
Help put away costumes.
Help keep track of stock.

Requirements:

Sufficient sewing skills
Transportation
The ability to handle deadlines.
Creativity
Patience
Experience preferred
